Robogals Science Challenge 2014!!!

In June this year ROBOGALS celebrates the fourth year running of the Robogals Science Challenge competition. Competition is fierce, but we are energized.

Since its first year in 2011, the competition has grown and seen changes in its structure. The competition is comprised of two parts, the Minor Challenges and the Major Challenge. The Minor Challenges span over three months and involve participants completing small experiments related to different types of engineering and science. Each month one new science area and three new engineering fields are introduced and participants have an option of an easy, medium or hard rated experiment to complete. These experiments are meant to cover a wide range of fields so girls can build on their skills and learn a bit more about the many types of engineering and science. In September, we open the Major Challenge, which is the main component of the competition. The Major Challenge gives participants a lot of freedom as they can now pick their own unique experiment or project. For this Challenge, participants explore a concept of science or engineering through their project or experiment then share their findings in a video. At the end of the competition these videos are judged and finalists from each division are selected to come to the Awards Ceremony in Melbourne. This year we hope to make the competition bigger and better than the last and see many more brilliant entries by girls around Australia.  For more information on how to join: www.sciencechallenge.com.au
